Questions

Good to know.

Is Oxtave free?

Yes. During the alpha Oxtave is free to download and use, with every feature included.

Will it stay free?

Pricing for the full 1.0 release hasn’t been decided yet. When it is, it will be published here first.

Is anything locked in the free version?

No. There are no tiers or add-on packs during the alpha: recording, editing, MIDI, mixing, all 31 effects, plugin hosting and stem separation are all included.

Can I use my own plugins?

Yes. Oxtave hosts VST3, Audio Unit and CLAP effects and instruments. They run in a separate sandbox process, so a crashing plugin doesn’t take your session down with it.

Which platforms does Oxtave run on?

Oxtave is made for macOS.

What does “alpha” mean?

Oxtave is under active development. The core studio is built and being tested in real sessions, new features are still landing, and you should expect rough edges — keep backups of projects that matter.
