Step by step

1. 01

   Show the track's automation lane by selecting it and pressing A.

2. 02

   In the lane header, set the mode to Touch, Latch or Write.

3. 03

   Start playback and move the control on the mixer, in the Inspector or in a plugin editor.

4. 04

   Set the lane back to Read to play your moves back.

5. 05

   Use Trim to offset existing automation relative to its curve.
